Sunel has joined the Tooth Fairy Dental team at our Queen street Te Puke Practice in June 2018.
Sunel’s young family moved from Auckland last year to the Bay of Plenty to enjoy the lifestyle of Tauranga and after only six weeks, it felt like home.
Sunel graduated as a dentist in 2007 (South Africa) but for now is focusing on providing Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. Sunel has a wide variety of dental experience ranging from being a dentist in emergency hospitals in South Africa to exposure to various Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene practices in Auckland and Tauranga as well as being an Oral Health Lecturer and clinical educator at AUT University since 2013 covering all aspects of theory and practical.
Sunel has undertaken study in tertiary teaching and post-graduate study in Advanced dental knowledge at AUT University.
She is passionate to enhance the overall oral health of her patients and preventing disease in later life. Her biggest aim is to provide patients with a comfortable and pleasant dental visit and let her patients walk out with a smile and feeling amazing.
In Sunel’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband Hendrik and her two young ones, going outside and enjoying everything the Bay has to offer. Her favourite scenic walk is up the Papamoa Hills. She loves ballet and most kinds of dancing in between minding her eight calves and adopted rooster called “Chicken”.
